Sweet Magnolia

Other Products: Bazzill cream cardstock, white pigment ink, corner rounder punch, dimensional adhesive, hot glue, hot glue gun, tidy tray, scissors, paper trimmer, die cutting machine

Instructions: Cut a piece of white cardstock to 9 1/2 x 6 3/4", score and fold at 4 3/4" to create card base. Round the top two corners of card using a corner rounder punch. Diecut the lattice fence from Lattice Flourish Gateway die using white cardstock. Use the largest plain die from Eyelet Frame Gateway Die to diecut a curve into the top section of lattice fence as shown. Temporarily place the lattice fence on bottom of card. Use the largest circle from Eyelet Circle & Basics Small Die set to diecut a circle opening into card. You can lay the lattice fence on card beforehand to help figure out the right placement for the circle. Stamp the straightest budding magnolia branch in Coastal Coral ink, first stamp off 1x on scrap paper, then stamp on top section of card. Stamp 3 times to create a soft background next to circle as shown. Lightly sponge the budding background with Pink Peony and use some pops of Leaf Green added next to the pink. Dab the edges of card base and circle with white pigment ink, sprinkle with Aged Ivory embossing powder and heat set with embossing tool. Repeat this step on the lattice fence posts and fence edge. Apply Dries Clear glue onto sponge and dab over card base and lattice fence, then sprinkle with Crystal Clear and tap off. Diecut 2 of the happy birthday from Lattice Flourish Gateway using white cardstock and layer one on top of the other for extra thickness. Dab with white pigment ink, sprinkle with Aged Ivory embossing powder and heat set with embossing tool. Cut a slightly smaller than 4 3/4 x 6 3/4" piece of green polka dot paper from the Sweet Magnolia paper collection for the inside of card. Round top corners with corner rounder punch.

Stamp the following images onto Bazzill cream cardstock and diecut with the coordinating dies. Stamp the two right facing magnolia budding branches from Sweet Magnolia Buds Cling Stamp Set in Leaf Green ink. Stamp the 6 of the largest magnolia petal, 4 of the medium magnolia petal, and 8 of the small magnolia petal ink white pigment ink, sprinkle with Aged Ivory embossing powder and heat set with embossing tool.

Use the Stack and Store daubers along with the following inks to color the images. For the magnolia petals, apply the ink color in layers on both sides of petal. Starting from center, color only about 3/4 of each petal, leaving the outer edges natural. Start with Pink Peony ink. Next use Coastal Coral. Then use Vibrant Fuchsia ink for the final touch. For the budding branches, use Leaf Green on the leaves and Pink Peony on the buds.

Mist the magnolia petals with water before placing them image side up into the Magnolia Shaping Mold and send through die cutting machine. Use Deluxe Flower shaping stylus to finish shaping petals. Use shaping stylus to shape budding branches. Layer the same size magnolia petals together using hot glue. Take 17 of the small plain matte stamen from Bridal Bouquet stamen set and lightly sponge them with Vivid Chartreuse ink. You’ll need 3 stamens for each large magnolia, 2 for each medium magnolia, and 1 for each of the small magnolias. Use the piercing tool from Groove Golf Tool set to pierce holes in flower centers and thread stamens through, attaching onto the backside with hot glue.

Use dimensional adhesive to attach lattice fence at the bottom of card. Clip apart the straight budding branch and attach small piece at the top next to circle. Attach the other budding branch underneath, hanging into opening of circle. Attach the other partial branch over fence as shown. Attach magnolia petals as shown. Sponge Leaf Green onto the edges of green polka dot paper and attach onto the inside of card. Sponge the top left and bottom half section of the paper that shows through circle opening with Vivid Chartreuse ink. Sponge Happy Birthday with Pink Peony and Coastal Coral ink and attach through circle opening to inside of card. For a finishing touch, add the Dries Clear glue onto hydra sponge and dab over leaves and paper through circle opening, sprinkle with Crystal Clear and tap off.
