Shaker Holiday Star

Instructions:

Cut white cardstock to 9 1/2 x 6 1/2", score and fold at 4 3/4" to create card base. Cut a 6 1/2 x 4 3/4" size panel from light blue sheet 11B in the Holiday Star paper collection. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 6 3/8 x 4 5/8" size panel. Using the smallest plain star from HCD1-7411 Holiday Star Die, diecut opening into center of white panel. Stamp the snowflake pattern from HCPC-3994 Large Holiday Star Cling Stamp Set onto the white panel using 2 ink variations. For the pink tone, ink the stamp with French Ultramarine, then Cactus Flower, stamp off 1x, then onto card. Repeat this step as needed. For the blue tone, ink the stamp with French Ultramarine, then Forget-Me-Not, stamp off 1x, then onto card. Repeat as needed. Sponge the edges of light blue panel, white snowflake panel and around the snowflake opening with French Ultramarine and Forget-Me-Not ink. Layer the light blue panel onto card base and the white snowflake one on top.

Stamp the snowflake patterned star from HCPC-3993 Holiday Star Cling Stamp Set, inking with Forget-Me-Not, then Night Sky. Stamp onto white cardstock and diecut the outline of image, 2nd largest plain star and snowflake as well. You’ll need the largest star border and the center snowflake piece. Clean the stamp. Stamp the image again, this time in French Ultramarine ink onto white cardstock, and diecut the outline and 2nd largest plain star. Stamp the star image again, this time in Silver Encore ink onto Luxe Silver cardstock, heat emboss with silver embossing powder and diecut outline and 2nd largest plain star. Diecut the largest plain star from clear cardstock. Attach the clear star on top of the silver one. Layer the other 2 stars on top as shown using the thin strip adhesive. Attach strips of adhesive all the way around the backside of silver star, making sure it’s fully enclosed to contain the shaker elements. Stamp the star 2x from HCPC-3994 Large Holiday Star Cling Stamp Set in Versa Color White ink onto white cardstock, heat emboss with white embossing powder and diecut with coordinating die. You’ll need two of these large snowflakes. Stamp the snowflake pattern from same set in ink combination of French Ultramarine and Forget-Me-Not onto white cardstock and diecut. Using from HCD1-7411 Holiday Star Die, diecut the decorative arrow from white cardstock 2x. Stamp the Season’s Greetings sentiment onto one of the arrows with a combo of French Ultramarine and Cactus Flower ink. Layer the arrow on top of the other for extra thickness. Trim the ‘Season’s Greetings’ sentiment from the 6 x 6 panel on sheet 11A in the paper collection.

Sponge the points of layered star with Cactus Flower ink as shown. Lightly sponge the blue snowflake with the same. Sponge tiny white stars from decorative arrow, one with Cactus Flower and the other with French Ultramarine and Forget-Me-Not ink. Lightly sponge the large snowflakes with Cactus Flower and French Ultramarine ink. Sponge the edges of sentiment arrow with French Ultramarine and Forget-Me-Not.

Cut apart the large white snowflakes, attaching one section at top left and one at the bottom right of star cutout. Attach blue star in the center of star cutout. Lay tiny stars and snowflakes in cutout area. Sprinkle some Frosting Powder in. Use Dries Clear glue to attach the layered stars around the cutout opening. Hold in place for a bit to make sure it’s secure. Attach the arrow sentiment at the bottom of card as shown. Sponge the edges of ‘Season’s Greetings’ sentiment strip with Forget-Me-Not ink and attach underneath and next to star as shown. To add some sparkle, apply the Dries Clear glue onto a yellow sponge, dab over card and sprinkle with Frosting Powder as desired.
