Serene Sympathy

Instructions:

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 10” x 6 1/4” and score in half at 5”. Cut a piece from sheet 4A of the HCDP1-2148 Ornate Peacock Paper Collection measuring 5” x 6 1/4” and adhere to the card front. Cut a piece of Luxe Gold Cardstock to 4 5/8” x 5 3/8” and a piece of white card stock to 4 1/2” x 5 3/4” and layer these two layers onto the card front. Next cut another piece from sheet 4A measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” and glue it as well to the card front. Now take HCD3-7446 Slim Gateway Rectangle Die set and cut the inside die once from white and once Luxe Gold Cardstock. Then cut the die cuts into three segments and discard the middle section from both the white and gold. Layer each of the Luxe Gold Cardstock pieces onto the back of the white pieces slightly off set so that the gold shows at the edges. Add pieces of Adhesive foam strips to the back and attach these two die pieces together as shown forming a “gate look” as the focal to the card. To finish the gate, cut the three pieces needed to form the handle from the HCD1-7285 Window Hinges Die Set using Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake cardstock, white cardstock, and Luxe Gold Cardstock. Add three mini gold brads through all 3 layers to finish the handle and attach it to the center of the gate with 3D foam dots.

From the HCPC-31014 Ornate Peacock Cling Stamp Set Stamp out 2 flourish stamps in Versacolor Pigment Ink onto Vellum Paper. (Designers Tip: Make sure to treat the vellum with an anti static tool prior to stamping for a cleaner embossing effect). Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Color on the back with HCDA2-450 Stack and Store Daubers in the Library Green Archival Ink for a light green glow. Now with the same ink and paper embossing technique stamp and emboss the smallest white Holly Hock flowers using HCPC-3999 Hollyhock Petals and Leaves Cling Stamp Set. Color them on the back with the daubers and Chrome Yellow Archival Ink. Next stamp the small flowers from the HCPC-3976 Curvy Floral Frame Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock, using Manganese Blue, and color with Bluebird and Manganese Blue Archival Inks. Lastly stamp the leaves from the HCPC-3912 Cascading Wisteria Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock, using English Ivy Archival ink and color using Leaf Green and English Ivy. Die cut all of the items above with their coordinating dies. Ink the tips of the leaves with the English Ivy ink. Hand shape both the leaves and the turquoise flowers using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and the golf tools. To Complete the small yellow flowers run them through the coordinating 3D Hollyhock flower shaping mold and add a single white Bridal Bouquet Stamen into the center of them securing with a glue gun. To finish the Turquoise flowers, layer them as desired and add Lettuce Entertain You Prills to the centers.

To complete the card, arrange the foliage towards the bottom of the gate with leaves first and sprays next. (Designers Tip: reserve a few leaves for the very end, it is always nice to have a few to add at the end if the arrangement doesn’t seem balanced) Then place the flowers. Stamp a sentiment from the HCPC-3848 Cheerful Note Sentiments Cling Stamp Set onto a piece of coordinating scrap paper and layer a piece of Luxe Gold Cardstock behind it. Add the sentiment to the card to finish the design. Complete the inside of the card as desired.
