Instructions: For a peek at the inside, see here. Visit my blog for more photos. Cover: The 8 1/4 x 9 inch 3 Ring Journal has a white color that I chose to use as my border. The pink base layer was cut at 7 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. The green designer layer was from the Classic Petunia Paper Collection and cut at 7 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches. The pink mat was cut at 6 1/2 x 61/2 inches. The coordinating top layer was cut at 5 x 6 inches. The layers were adhered with wide double sided tape.
The upper right flower images were from the Classic Petunia Bouquet and Butterfly Medley Stamp Sets. The images were stamped with Desert Sand Memento Ink on X-Press It Blending Cardstock and colored with Copic Alcohol Ink Markers (YG61, YG63, HG67, RV01, RV10, RV23, RV63, W5, BV 00, BV04, BV09, BG10, BG13, C3, C7).
The violet colored flowers were from the large and small Classic Petunia Stamp Sets. The petunia flowers were stamped with a ColorBox Fluid Chalk -Wisteria and diecut with the coordinating die. They were lightly misted with a mini mister and shaped using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. The stamens were Pastel Pearl - small. They were adhered using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.
The pink roses from the Classic Rose Collection were stamped on white cardstock with Memento Rose Bud Ink, sponged with ColorBox Rouge and Rose Coral ink. They were die cut with the corresponding die. The flowers were shaped with the 3D Rose Mold. A small amount of final shaping was applied with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. The petals were adhered with Dries Clear Adhesive. A small amount of Ranger Crackle Paint was applied to the petals and sprinkled lightly with frosting powder. The petals were heat set.
The Classic Leaf Cling Stamp was stamped with Olive Grove ink on green cardstock multiple times. They were die cut with the coordinating die. The edges were sponged with additional coats of Olive Green Ink. Ranger Crackle Paint was applied lightly to a few leaves and lightly sprinkled with frosting powder. The leaves were heat set.
Designer Dries Clear Adhesive was applied on the lower left side of the journal cover and allowed to dry. The Flowers, Petunia Bouquet and butterfly were arranged as shown on the cover and adhered with a hot glue gun.
Inside: Base and designer layer of the inside front cover was identical to the front cover. I then applied the Sweetheart Border Die along with photos, pearls and foam flowers were applied. Pink cardstock and a trimmed journal page was applied to the back inside cover with double sided tape. The pages were from the Heartfelt Inspirations Journal Pages. The journal was filled with sentiments from Today's Quotes, embossed with Detail Black embossing powder and heat set. Each was mounted on pink cardstock. Photos from my Retirement Party were cropped and matted on green cardstock. Some photos and mats were die cut with the Large and Small Eyelet Oval and Basics Die. Quotes of success, inspiration, teamwork, leadership and gratitude were penned in calligraphy. I also included thoughts and memories of my time spent as a RN Case Manager with Kaiser Permanente. The pages were embellished with pearls, flowers and butterflies from various collections from Heartfelt Creations. The final pages state...Every Ending Gives Me a New Beginning. Bags packed.... Let the Journey Begin!
