Mother's Day Iris
Mother's Day Iris

Instructions:
Cut a piece of white card stock to 7” x 9” and score in half at 3 1/2" to form the card base. Using the two largest dies from HCD3-7431 Slim Eyelet Rectangle Die Set, cut one each from both white card stock, as well as from sheet 11B from the HCDP1-2150 Iris Garden Paper Collection. Glue the yellow pieces on top of the white pieces for added support. Now with the largest die from HCD3-7432 Slim Basic Rectangle Die Set, cut a piece from sheet 1B and layer on top of the largest yellow eyelet piece already cut. Adhere these two layers to the card base. Now take the 3rd largest die from the Slim Basic Rectangles and cut a piece from white card stock. Dry emboss this piece with any embossing folder and adhere to the smaller yellow eyelet piece. Attach to the card front using 3D foam tape.
Using the HCPC-3982 Classic Floral Vase Cling Stamp Set, stamp out the slender vase using Periwinkle Archival ink onto sheet 12B from the Iris Garden Paper Collection. Die cut with the coordinating dies. Ink the edges lightly with the Periwinkle ink and attach to the embossed panel offset to the left using foam tape only on the bottom half of the vase. Next using HCPC-31020 Iris Garden Petals Cling Stamp Set stamp out the small iris stamp 1x in Deep Purple and 1x in Chrome Yellow Archival Ink. Stamp the medium iris 1 time in Deep Purple and 2 times in Chrome Yellow all onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper. Color front and back using blending brushes using Periwinkle, and Chrome Yellow. Die cut with coordinating dies. Ink edges using Stack and Store Sponge Daubers in Periwinkle, Deep Purple, and Chrome Yellow. Now stamp the small leaves in Olive Archival ink onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 7x. Color with Leaf Green and Olive with a blending brush then die cut with the coordinating dies. Finally ink the edges of the leaves with the blend of green inks before running all petals and leaves through the coordinating 3D shaping mold. For the filler flowers, stamp the two stamps shown from the HCPC-31022 Iris Garden Accents Cling Stamp Set onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper using Olive and Periwinkle Inks. Color with Stack and Store daubers with the same inks and die cut using coordinating dies. For the small purple blooms simply dot on some Dries Clear glue and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear Glitter.
To shape the Iris flower, begin with a small Iris petal and a little extra cup dimension with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and pierce the center of the flower and add 2 of the HCS1-499 Petite Pollen Stamens - Medium to the center. Secure with hot glue. Add this petal to a medium petal offset in the opposite direction. Lastly cut a second medium petal in half and add half to the front and half to the back of the flower. Glue all petals securely with hot glue. Using florist tape, wrap the stamen wires as they will show some in the finished project. To finish the flowers use Dries Clear Adhesive to adhere Flower Soft to the petals.
Now simply arrange the flowers in place attaching the stems with hot glue. Add in all the additional leaves and fillers to create a lovely bouquet. Stamp a sentiment from the HCPC-3846 Thank You Sentiments Cling Stamp Set with Deep Purple ink and die cut using the HCD1-7202 Album Tags and Accents Die Set. Ink the edges with both Periwinkle and Deep Purple inks and then attach with crinkle ribbon to the vase. Finish the inside of the card with a piece of paper from the Iris Garden Paper Collection for a beautiful coordinating look.
