Birthday Swan

Instructions:

Using flower shaping paper, cut at  score and fold at 6”. Place the largest decorative circle die so that it overlaps the folded edge and die cut to create a shaped card base.

Cut a large solid decorative circle using pale paper from the collection and another of flower shaping paper, layer together and adhere to the front of the card base. Diecut the largest decorative circle in a darker contrasting colour and adhere to the centre of the card.

Stamp the swan onto white card using sweet plum ink and die cut, snip away the swan that is behind and colour the feathers of the complete swan using light violet zig marker. Colour the beak with a yellow zig. Shape with flower shaping tools.

Die cut the ironworks sentiment from luxe silver card, cut away the hearts from the sentiment. Adhere this to a pale eyelet circle diecut using the largest circle die. Adhere to the centre of the card.

Make the flowers: Stamp the smallest petals using magenta hue ink. Add the same ink using a dauber from the centre to the edges. Diecut and colour the reverse. Place face up in the shaping mold, spritz with water and run through the die cutting machine to shape. Press down on the edges of the petals to give a scrunched look. Layer two sets of petals together and allow the flower to dry. Add a little rose bud ink to the edges of the petals. Squeeze a large dot of nuvo into the centre of the flowers and cover with prills.

Make the magnolia branches: Stamp the branches x 4 using expresso truffle ink, colour using pale green and pale pink – using zig watercolour - for the leaves and flowers and use a dauber to colour the branch with the espresso truffle ink. Die cut and add a little rose bud to the flowers. Shape using the flower shaping tools.

Position and add the swan, branches and magnolias using hot glue – securing a little sisal under the flowers. Sponge dries clear adhesive on to the florals, sprinkle with glitter and remove the excess
