collection watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/kmqAVM6ibfM.
Instructions: 12 x 12" kraft
cardstock is the background. Cut the light blue patterned paper to 11 x
11". Tear a section out of the middle and roll the edges. Cut a piece of
the map patterned paper that is 11 x 5". Distress all of the outside edges
of these patterned papers. Adhere these 3 pieces to the kraft cardstock
Cut a piece of the teal patterned
paper that is 5 x 6.5", and distress the edges. Cut a piece of the orange
patterned paper that is 1.75 x 11" and tear both ends. Cut a piece of the
dark green patterned paper that is 0.5 x 11". Adhere the orange patterned
paper to the layout using 3D foam tape and the green strip of paper using
regular adhesive. Adhere the teal patterned paper using thicker 3D foam
squares.
Mat your photo in white, brown and
white cardstock. Adhere to the layout using 3D foam squares. Find and die cut
the cream mini tag. Add the mini tag and a kraft cardstock tag just above your
matted photo. Add burlap string to each.
Stamp and die cut 1 beetle and 1
“Journey” sign using black Archival Ink on white cardstock. Add colour using
Chameleon Pens. The sign simply uses (PR4) and then I inked the edges with
brown ink. The beetle uses (PR4, BK4, CG8) for the car itself. To create
highlight on the car I started my blend in the middle and worked my way out in
the image. The flowers in the back were coloured using (PK5, OR3, PK3, YG3,
YO3).
Stamp one of the Festive Gate
images using Early Espresso ink. I hand cut the middle post out of the image, I
did not want the side of the post, so I cut out just the front from the image.
I added colour to the post using a waterbrush and Distress Oxide Inks (Walnut
Stain, Vintage Photo). Adhere these pieces to the bottom left hand corner of
the layout using 3D Foam Squares.
Stamp and die cut 2 sets of the
smaller Wildwood Floral, Enchanted Mum and 1 set of the smallest Water Lily
using black Archival ink on white cardstock. Stamp and die cut 4 sets of the
Young at Heart leaves using black Archival ink and white cardstock. Stamp and
die cut 3 sets of the Tropical Hibiscus leaves using black Archival ink on
white cardstock.
I added colour to the mini leaves
using Chameleon Pens (PR4, YG3), just in the leaf middles. Shape and set aside.
I added colour to the Wildwood Florals using Chameleon Pens (OR3, YL2). Shape
the flowers. I added beads to the middle of the flowers using 3D Crystal
Lacquer. Let dry.
I added colour to the Enchanted
Mums using Chameleon Pens (VO4 and Color Top OR3). With the Color Top I started
my blend from the middle and worked my way out in sections. Shape and assemble
the flowers, I created one large and one medium layered flower. I then misted
the flowers using ColorBox Pearl Rain. Let dry. Add gems to the middles.
I added colour to the Tropical
Hibiscus leaves using Chameleon Pens (YG3 and ColorTop BG3). With the Color Top
I started my blend at the base of each leaf and worked out to the tip. Shape
the leaves. I then misted the leaves with Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Teal) mist.
Let dry. I added colour to the small Water Lily flowers using a Chameleon Pen
(PK3). Shape the flowers and add beads to the middles using 3D Crystal Lacquer.
Create clusters of flowers to the left and right
of the matted photo. I often add the leaves in after the flowers are in place.
Don't be afraid to tuck flowers under some of your existing layers. Find and
cut out the word “Adventure” and tear the right end of the strip. Adhere in the
top left hand corner of the layout. I added letter stickers to kraft cardstock
and added it just above Adventure.
