Instructions: The Mini Album uses HCFP1-435-1 Pocket/Flip Fold Insert A (12.0" x 5.5").
The CD Holder uses HCFP1-435-1 Pocket/Flip Fold Insert B (12.0" x 7.75"). Fold and crease Pocket/Flip Fold Insert A to create the mini album book. Cover the area that will be the front of album with white cardstock. Create the latch piece from a 1" x 3" strip of pink gingham patterned paper from the Paper collection. Trim the corners off one end of the latch piece. Adhere a small magnet to the back side of the trimmed end of the latch piece. Adhere this to black cardstock with the magnet in between, and trim the black cardstock to make a mat for the latch. Score the latch piece at 1" and 1 1/2". Adhere the end of the latch without the magnet to the back side of the album, allowing the end with the magnet to wrap around to the front of the album. Cover the back of the album with decorative paper from the Paper Collection.
To make the shaker window for the front of the album, start with the large square die from the Cut Mat Create 2B Die set. Create a window in a 6" square section of paper from the Paper Collection that has the pocket image. Watch this video to learn how to cut the decorative window opening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP3wVYISMz4. Using a black Sharpie, outline the cut edges. Adhere a 5" square of Clear Cardstock to the back side of the decorative window. Die cut 5 of the pre-colored bee images from the paper collection using the Sweet as Honey “Single Bee” die. Die cut the pre-colored image of the large white blossom with a bee using the coordinating “Busy Bee” die. Adhere the blossom image to the front of the mini album. Make a small pile of the die-cut bees and sequence pieces in the center of album cover. Surround the pile with Foam Tape to create “walls” to keep the pieces in. Position and adhere a magnet to the album front in the area where it will meet up with the magnet on the latch. Adhere the 6" square decorative window over the pile using foam tape.
Cut a 6" x 1 1/4" strip of black cardstock and make two score lines, 1/2" apart, down the center length of the strip to create a seam for the album. Adhere the strip to the seam of the album. Using the “Paper Edge” die from the Border Essentials Die set, cut two borders from black card stock and adhere on each side of the seam.
Cover the remaining areas of the album with card panels and decorative paper from the Paper Collection. Add a large button over the closure end of the latch to camouflage any bulkiness from the magnets.
To create the CD Holder, fold and crease Pocket/Flip Fold Insert B. Cover all sides with decorative paper from the Paper Collection. Locate a 6" x 6" card panel from the Paper Collection and cut away the center using the large square from the Cut Mat Create Die. Cover the back side of the card panel with Clear Cardstock. Add strong adhesive to three of the card panel edges. Adhere the panel to the inside of the CD Holder. Make sure the side without adhesive is positioned next to the center fold so your CD can be slid in at that point.
Finish the project by adding photos, journaling cards, clips, buttons, etc. to the album to decorate to your taste. Insert the finished CD holder into the front flap of the mini album.
