Instructions: Start by cutting 3 scalloped hearts out of white cardstock. For best results, I would suggest using 110 lb. card stock. The larger hearts are 6 1/2" x 7" while the smaller one is 5" x 4 1/2" in size. Next, cut 2 solid hearts out using the Sugar Hollow Paper Collection. The hearts measure 6" x 5 1/2". One solid heart is for the top of the box and the other one is for the inside. Using a coordinating piece of cardstock you used for the solid hearts, cut two 12" x 2 1/2" strips and score on the 1/2" mark on the long edge. If you want your box deeper, simply make these pieces taller. Now, in order for these strips to take the form of the hearts you will need to make a series of relief cuts to allow them to bend. Attach 1 strip to one of the solid hearts and the other solid heart. Make sure that you attach the strips to the opposite sides of the heart so that when you attach them together they will form the box. For one of the pieces, cut the excess from the strip off and for the other piece only cut off the 1/2" score. You will use the extra paper to attach the 2 hearts together. Tip: Another option for a hinge, and my personal favorite is to use a piece of ribbon for the hinge that you can hide between the layers of paper. Flip over the top heart and attach the strip of paper so that the box will open and close. For a clean look, attach the paper on the inside of the box. Once the glue has dried, attach the last solid heart on the top for added strength. Finally, layer on your remaining hearts and decorate.
