Instructions: Create a 4 3/4" x 4 1/2" notepad holder from a large tag. (For step-by-step photo directions, click the link HERE). Using a large kraft tag (approximately 3 7/8" x 8 3/4"), score on the long side at 3 1/2" and 4". Fold on the score lines and burnish with a bone folder. Sponge tag edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink. Unfold the tag with the grommet end to the left (with the outside of the tag facing up) and attach Everyday Heroes paper to the outside of the tag notepad holder as follows. Trim black and ivory dot paper to 3 7/8" x 3 3/4" and round the left top and bottom corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink and attach the paper to the left side of the tag. Trim a strip of black and ivory dot paper to 3/8" x 3 3/4" and sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink. Attach the paper to the center section (the spine) of the notepad holder. Trim a third piece of black and ivory dot paper to 3 3/8" x 3 3/4" and round the right upper and lower corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink and attach the paper to the right side of the tag.
Flip the tag over so that the grommet end is on the right. Decorate the inside of the notepad holder as follows. Trim notebook print Everyday Heroes paper to 3 3/8" x 3 3/4" and round the left top and bottom corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink and attach the paper to the left side of the tag. Create a pocket, suitable for holding a gift card, from black and ivory dot paper. Trim the paper to 1 1/2" x 3 3/4". Round both left corners and use a circle punch to create a notch in the center of the right edge. Sponge the edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink. Add 1/8" double-sided tape to the top, left, and bottom edges of the pocket and attach it to the left edge of the tag. Trim a strip of black and ivory dot paper to 3/8" x 3 3/4" and sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink. Attach the paper to the center section (the spine) of the notepad holder. Trim a piece of tan and black dot paper to 3 7/8" x 3 3/4" and round the right upper and lower corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink and attach the paper to the right side of the tag. Using strong double-sided adhesive, attach a 3" x 3" sticky-note pad to the right side of the notepad holder. Stamp the "better place" sentiment from the Everyday Hero Cling Stamp Set onto the center of the first sticky-note with black ink.
Trim canvas ribbon to 5 1/2" x 1/2" and knot one end. Thread the canvas ribbon through the grommet so that the knot is on the back of the tag. Trim a second piece of canvas ribbon to 7 1/2" x 1/2" and glue one end to the center of the notepad holder front cover. Tie a loose knot with the ribbon ends to close the notepad holder. Stamp the Vintage Morning Background Cling Stamp Set onto ivory cardstock with dark brown ink. Color the image with creamy brown chalk ink. Cut out the flowers with the Majestic Blooms Die. Shape the flowers and create blooms by gluing two flowers together, one larger then the other. Create three blooms of various sizes. Use Glossy Accents to add tiny beads to the flower centers. Glue the flowers to the front of the notepad holder as shown, making sure to overlap the canvas ribbon. Use the Luggage and Tags Die to trim the "just a note" sentiment from the Everyday Heroes paper. Attach the sentiment to the lower left of the notepad holder using foam adhesive. Slip a gift card into the inside pocket and give the holder to your favorite teacher, coach, or hostess. Visit my blog HERE for more photos and inspiration.
