Instructions: Create an 8 7/8" x 3 7/8" altered envelope gift card holder from a pre-made #9, top-loading envelope. Decorate the front of the envelope by first trimming a plain section from the Everyday Heroes "boot and butterfly" paper to 8 3/4" x 3 3/4". Use a stamp positioning tool to stamp the newsprint image from the Everyday Hero Newsprint Cling Stamp Set onto the paper with Creamy Brown Chalk Ink. Cover the surface of the paper with the stamped image, making sure to create "newspaper grid." Sponge the edges of the paper with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Attach the stamped paper to the front of the envelope. Trace a section of the Everyday Heroes striped paper to cover the inside of the envelope flap. Fold the flap to the front of the envelope and glue into place to create a decorative "topper" for the top of the envelope front. Use the Cut Mat Create 2A Die to trim the Delicate Flourish from black cardstock. Attach the flourish to the top center of the envelope flap. Stamp the "Celebrating You" sentiment from the You Inspire Me Cling Stamp Set onto kraft cardstock with black ink. Use the arrow shape from the Everyday Heroes Die to trim out the sentiment. Flip the die around and cut the "banner" section on the other side of the sentiment as shown in THIS tutorial. Sponge with distress ink and attach the sentiment banner to the bottom of the envelope front with foam adhesive. Cover a 4 7/8" x 2 3/8" Manila shipping tag with Everyday Heroes paper containing the blue rose and butterfly images, trim the excess paper. Sponge the edges of the tag with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Attach the tag to the right edge of the envelope front, approximately 2" from the top.
Stamp the flower branch from the Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the image with distress and pigment inks. Cut out the branch with the Birds and Blooms Die and attach the branch to the top part of the tag as shown, using foam adhesive. Stamp the six small flowers from the Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set twice onto white cardstock. Color the flowers with pigment ink. Shape the flowers and attach to the flowers on the branch. Create a few buds, the others keep flat and layer over the existing flowers on the branch. Add black glitter glue to some of the flower centers. Stamp the flowers once and leaves twice from the Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock. Sponge the flowers and leaves with pigment ink. Use the Botanical Wings Die to cut out the flowers and leaves. Create a rose by gluing the flowers together. Glue the rose to the bottom of the tag as shown. Add the leaves. Stamp the leaves from Leafy Branch Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the leaves with distress ink and cut out with the Leafy Branch Die. Glue the leaves to the right edge of the tag. Add a small blue flower as shown. Stamp the Butterfly Medley Cling Stamp Set onto neutral Everyday Heroes paper with black ink. Sponge the largest butterfly with blue pigment ink. Cut out the image with the Butterfly Medley Die. Attach the large butterfly to the tag with foam tape as shown.
Decorate the back of the envelope by first using a circle punch to cut a notch out of the top of the backside of the envelope. Trim the paper with the image of the boot and the butterflies to 8 3/4" x 3 3/4". Use a circle punch to notch the top center of the paper and sponge the edges. Attach the paper to the back of the envelope, lining up the notches. Use a 2 3/4"circle die template to trim a section of Everyday Heroes paper containing the blue rose. Use foam adhesive to attach the rose image over the top of the boot image on the back of the envelope. Trim a piece of striped paper to 1 3/4" x 3 3/4" and line the top inside of the envelope so that the striped paper shows behind the notch made in the previous step.
Create a journaling card to slip into the envelope. Cut black cardstock to 8 1/2" x 3 5/8". Cut two pieces of kraft cardstock to 8 3/8" x 3 1/2" and attach to the front and back of the black panel. Trim one piece of Everyday Heroes paper containing the blue rose and butterfly image to 8 1/4" x 3 3/8". Sponge the edges and attach to the front of the kraft panel. Trim a piece of tan with black dots Everyday Heroes paper to 8 1/4" x 3 3/8". Sponge the edges and attach to the back of the kraft panel. Slide the panel into the envelope.
