Hi Friend,

How is your week going? Are you scampering around preparing last minute gifts and baking Christmas goodies?

Often times during the holidays, we have this image of picture perfect gatherings with sugar plums dancing in our heads:) However, often times things don't quite go as planned and "life happens." Last year when we had our extended family gathering with 25 of us all together....we had so much fun, games, laughter, and ended it with a good movie where all of us huddled in a small corner of the living room to watch it...Great memories were made, however right in the middle of the day, there was a spill! It was hot tea and it spilled over one of the young kids, scalding her tender skin quite badly.....As you can imagine, the poor sweetie was in quite a lot of pain and we worked a couple hours with her to soothe the pain....so this Christmas season, whether everything goes as planned, or the cookies look like something the dogs should eat, or the ham plops on the kitchen floor....have a Merry Christmas and treasure the time spent with your family and friends making beautiful memories:)

Creative Inspiration of the Week

White Christmas Bauble Card

White Christmas Bauble Card
Products Used:
Ornate Sleigh and Presents Die, HCD1-7104
Celebrate the Season Die, HCD1-7106

Other Products: Jeans thread, white acrylic paint, 3D microballs, gel medium, glue, gauze, glitter, tape

Watch this video https://youtu.be/Q8Mj-EfcDvs for shaping tips and techniques on the poinsettia flower and holly leaves.

Instructions: First on the normal paper and then on the watercolour paper I drew a 15 x 15 cm Christmas bauble. I glued a previously cut off bauble on the second paper and I cut off another one 0.5 cm bigger. Then I sewed them together on a sewing machine. Sewn together elements are glued on the first base. I cut off flowers and leaves from Celebrate the Season and Ornate Sleigh.

On the bauble I did 3D embossing and I attached a Scrapiniec chipboard with glued on leaves and flowers. I added a gauze and I glued 3D microballs using gel medium. Everything is painted with white glossy acrylic paint.

At the end I glued a Christmas text in the centre of the card, I sprinkled it with glitter and I added a tape.

Mercury Glass 3D Poinsettia Star Ornament

Mercury Glass 3D Poinsettia Star Ornament

Other Products: Kraft Cardstock; Mercury Glass 12" x 12" Cardstock (DCWV); Versamark Ink Pad; Nuvo Gold Enchantment Glitter Embossing Powder; Heat Tool; Gold Stickles; hot glue gun; Burgundy Satin/Chiffon Ribbon & Gold Cording; hole punch; Silhouette Cameo & 3d Star SVG Cut file; Scor-Tape

Watch this video https://youtu.be/1INCr0klRIQ to learn how to shape the Sparkling Poinsettia.

Instructions: These star ornaments measure 4" x 4". To begin, I used my digital cutter and SVG cut file to cut out 3d stars from Kraft and Mercury Glass cardstock and assembled them.

Then I stamped the poinsettia image onto vellum using Versamark ink pad. After I sprinkled on the glitter gold embossing powder, I heat set the images and die cut them out with the matching die. Using the flower shaping kit, I shaped the poinsettias and layered them to create one medium and one small for each star. Using the hot glue gun, I adhered the flowers into place on my stars. I added the gold glitter stickles to the middle of the poinsettias. I punched a hole in one point of the star and added some gold cording. I also tied my ribbon into a bow and hot glued it into place to complete the project.

Other Products: Fantasia Watercolour Pencils (11, 32, 4, 9, 39, 48, 50, 45, 54, 37, 53, 29), Waterbrush Pen, Tombow Adhesives (Stamp Runner, 3D Foam Tape, Monotwin), Core'dinations Glitter Prints, CTMH Ink (Chocolate, Whisper), Memories Ink (Black), Cardstock (White)

Instructions: My card base is 5" x 7" in white cardstock. Cut another piece of white cardstock that is 4.75" x 6.75" and adhere to the card base using 3D foam tape. Cut a piece of the gradient patterned paper that is 4.5" x 6.5". Adhere to the card base. Cut 2 strips of the Core'dinations Glitter Prints that are 6.5" x 2.5". From each of these you are going to cut a curved edge. One opposite from the other. This creates the snowy hills. I adhered both of these to the card using 3D foam tape, keeping dimension between each layer.

Stamp and cut out your critters, gifts, birch treescape and pine trees. I added colour to everything using watercolour pencils and my waterbrush. I used a black pen to darken all of the critters eyes. Adhere all of the pieces to the card, most of which I used 3D foam tape. I used a grey coloured pencil to add shadows below all the critters and trees.

Find and cut out your seasonal greeting from the Celebrate the Season patterned paper. Flag one end of the sentiment and adhere to the card. Cut a small piece of blue patterned paper to the end of the sentiment. I also added a Santa hat to my little fox, by just hand cutting pieces of white and red cardstock.

Stamp the log, flowers, grass, leafy bushes and mouse image on X-Press It Blending Card-Stock using Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink. The image is one stamp so that makes it so easy to create your focal scene! Color the image using Copic Alcohol Ink Products or your ink of choice. The image was colored with flicking motions in a lateral direction. Keeping the coloring in one direction (lateral) gives the appearance of texture and you can see the levels of bark pop up. Sharp edges are used for the bark so avoid over blending. The following Color Combo was used for my image: Log - E00, E11, E13, E33, E35, E45, E 49; Grass - G40, G28, YG61, YG63; Leafy Bushes - YG 01, YG23, YB63; Flowers - V11, V09,   V20, V22; Mouse - C1, C3, C4.

The image was die cut using the corresponding Woodsy Wonderland Die. Three additional layers were cut using brown card-stock and adhered to the back to form a thickness like chipboard. This will add strength to the image when it's popped up from the scenic background. The layers of the focal image were adhered with Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.

The base layer and scenic layer were adhered and then applied to the card base using double sided tape. This adds extra strength for images that have weighted embellishments. The focal image was added with foam dimensional dots.

I really like the "print project" link after each project. That makes it very simple to print out only the project(s) that you want to recreate.

Christmas projects have really drawn my attention...love that beautiful tag. I have just finished a beautiful photo album featuring yellow roses made with your wonderful Classic Rose die set...WOW! I am so impressed with these dramatic petal layers! I love that I could choose the size of my flowers, as opposed to having all the petal layers joined together. Your rose shaping tutorial was so easy to follow. This die set will get lots of use!
