Let's get crafting!
Directions:
Step 1: Start by making the card base. Cut two pieces of white card stock 8” x 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score the 8” card piece at 1/2" on the longer side to make a flap. Adhere the second piece on this flap to create a tent fold card base that measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2".
Cut two pieces of background pattern paper measuring 7 1/4" x 5 1/4” from the Rustic Sunflower Paper collection. Adhere the pieces on the front and inside the card base.
Step 2: With a pencil and ruler, draw lines all around on the pattern paper on the front, leaving 1/2" border on the two sides and the bottom. Leave the top part, not adding any lines here.
Step 3: Open the card base, and using the paper cutter, cut along the drawn line. Score along the top (do not cut here) and along the middle at 3 1/4”. Fold as shown. Apply Clear adhesive on the front frame on the three sides, leaving the top and adhere the front to the back base.
Step 4: Cut a piece of white card stock that measures 1 1/2” x 8 1/2" and add another piece of pattern paper on it. Make a 1 3/4" slit on the top fold of the white card base exactly in the centre. Insert the strip through this slit and slide it under the flap. Fold the bottom of the strip 1/2" and adhere on the middle of the front flap. This is the pull slider mechanism for the card. When you pull the tab on the top, the flap will fold and the card front will slide up and stand.
Step 5: Using the Teardrop Lattice Gateway Die, cut die cuts in this way. Remove the inside decorative window arch die and cut two pieces each in white card stock and luxe gold card stock. Using the outer mat die, cut a base from the pattern paper. Using the inner window decorative die, cut one in white card stock and one in gold card stock.
Adhere the white gateway die cut on the Luxe gold die cut, offsetting a little. Add another piece of pattern paper on the base to match the window of the gateway die. Add dimensional tape at the back of the gateway die and adhere the whole piece on the front flap by adding glue only on the bottom area of the flap. Do not add glue on the top of the flap.
Adhere the window die cuts together and add it to the card front on the left side of the gateway die.
Step 6: Stamp the different sizes of the sunflower images using the Rustic Sunflower stamp set on deluxe flower shaping paper using Sunflower Archival ink. Cut the flowers with Rustic sunflower dies. Use the same ink to color the flowers using sponge daubers. Stamp the leaves in Library Green ink and color using Library green ink and Leaf green ink and cut with matching die.
Step 7: Place the flowers and leaves, face down on the 3D Sunflower shaping mold and pass through the die cutting machine. Further shape the flowers, using the Deluxe Flower shaping tools.
Layer the flowers together using clear glue. To make a big flower, adhere two big sunflowers offsetting petals and then add a medium sunflower. Cup the flowers using the ball tool from Deluxe flower shaping kit and add the black Power Outage prills in the center. Similarly make medium flowers using two medium sizes and one small size flower. Stamp the smallest flower sizes in Leaf green Archival ink on the flower shaping paper and cut with matching die. Shape the flowers and add green prills in the center to make filler flowers.
Step 8: Stamp the sunflower image and the ladybug image from the Rustic Sunflower Bucket stamp set on flower shaping paper and color with Zig markers. Cut with Rustic Sunflower bucket die set.
Step 9: Stamp the sentiments from the Special Birthday cling stamp set with Jet black Archival ink on an oval die cut. Add another sentiment on the card base.
Step 10: Arrange the flowers and leaves on the card front and the base using hot glue. Add the colored image at the side of the arrangement. Add the ladybug to finish the card.
