Elegant Inspiration + Singing in the Rain Sneak Peek
Hi Friend,
Happy New Year! How is your week going? Brrr....it's a chilly -12 degrees here in Indiana...Are you recovering from all the hustle and bustle the holidays bring! What was one of your favorite moments?
Have you created your first project of 2018? If not, we're bringing you the first fresh new inspiration of 2018 that will get your creativity jump-started....it's amazing what taking the time to create something beautiful can do for you! Here's what Barbara shared that happened to her recently:
I learned so much from this online class. I have been making scrapbooks for many years. I wasn't sure this class would help me. I was wrong!! I learned many useful techniques that will come in handy with many of my future activities. I was so impressed that I have signed up for the next class. It is nice that I can replay the class whenever I want to. I was happy to see others materials can be used to make these projects. I can't wait to try out the techniques I learned. I loved seeing all the samples. ~Barbara Jane Johnson

Who's excited about the Singing in the Rain Collection debuting online January 10th. You can see the entire preview here: http://hcgo.co/SingingInTheRain

Instructions: The finished size of this tent fold card is 5.90in x 5.90in (15cm x 15cm). Make the card base, using the Kraft card-stock to measure 5.90in x 5.90 in. when folded into the tent fold. Find in the paper collection the design paper with the orange and white carnations in the border. Cut the border out of the paper using the paper cutting knife and steel edged ruler. Put aside the cut away center for another project, keep the pale green out side and adhere this to the card base with the dries clear glue or double sided tape. Find the design paper with the garden scene and cut this a little smaller than the card front as the second matting. Adhere now the frame to the card front with the 3d dots. Taking the white card-stock, stamp the sentiment with the Archival coffee ink. Find the die circle from the Large Circle die set that fits around the sentiment. Die cut the stamped circle, then die cut 4x extra circles. Adhere all the layers together to form a chipboard circle. Ink the edges of the sentiment circle with the Broken China and daubers. Adhere to the center of the card front.
Find the smallest die circle from the Small Circle die set and the design paper with the blue-sky color, die cut 17x circles. Cut the circles in a swirl shape. With the tweezers hold the center of the swirl and curl around the tweezers point as you are holding the paper. Keep twirling this for a short while to iron the shape. Remove the tweezers; this will now take the form of a rose bud. The rose bud tail end will later be secured at the same time the bud is adhered to the card with the hot glue gun.
Make the carnation flowers and leaves using the white card-stock. Stamping with the archival coffee ink and diecutting with coordinating die. The carnation stamp size chosen is the third from largest and one down. The carnations are made using 4 x layers. Shape using the flower shaping mold and running through the die cutting machine. Adhere together using the hot glue gun, the barn door ink is added to the petal tops then sprayed with water mist so the color will fade into the carnation flower. The leaves will be colored using both the forest moss and peeled paint green inks. Give the leaves shape by using the flower shaping tool kit. Taking the organza ribbon, wrap around the card then adhere at the card front. Make a full bow, adhere this to the card front with the hot glue gun. Using the hot glue gun to adhere the 3 rose buds in place across the bowknot, the carnations and leaves on each side of the bow. Place the rest of the rose buds as fillers to both the carnation clusters. To finish the card, apply the diamond stickles to the rose bud and carnation petal tips.

Instructions: Cut heavy white cardstock at 5 1/2 x 11 in. Score at 5 1/2 in. to create a top folding card. Cut the green cardstock at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches. Find the designer paper with the water scene and cut at 5 x 5 inches.
Adhere the layers with double sided tape and cut a window using the large Eyelet Oval and Basics Large Die. Also cut a white eyelet frame using the same die set to adhere around the outer edge of the window using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive. The die nest perfectly and creates a beautiful eyelet around the window.
Apply Ranger Clear Crackle paste to the corners of the card, sprinkle with Rajni's Frosting Powder and heat set. The longer the heat is applied to the powder and crackle paint, the puffier the frosting. The amount of puffiness will be a personal preference.
Stamp the Fanciful Carnation Cling Stamp on X-Press It Blending Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Color the image with Copic Alcohol Ink Markers (Flower - RV81, RV83, RV69, RV17, RV21 and Leaves - YG91, YG93, YG95, YG99, YG03).
Cut the Fanciful Die four times from green cardstock and adhere together with clear adhesive. Adhere the colored image on top and allow to dry. This will give some dimensional and allow the flower to "pop". Using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive, adhere the flower to the window, as shown on the picture. Apply three rhinestones at the upper right hand side of the card.
