Creative Inspiration of the Week

Pink Orchid Lace Frame

Pink Orchid Lace Frame

Other products: White Cardstock, Spellbinders Regal Frame Die, Bridal Tinsel Embossing Powder, Dimensional Tape, Embossing Ink, Worn Lipstick Distress Ink

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: My card is 5" X 7". Make card base and cover with a piece of the paper collection that has been distressed with Distress Ink. Cut one of the card fronts from the paper collection and then cut out the Spellbinders Die using white cardstock. Glue the die cut to the card front and use dimensional tape to adhere to the front of the card.

Stamp, cut out, color and shape the flowers and glue together. Next I used a sponge and added embossing ink to the edges of the flowers and embossed. This gives the flowers a pretty sheen on the edges. Glue the flowers to the front of the card. Finally, I cut out a sentiment from the paper using one of the dies from the Regal Frame package and backed it with a piece of white cardstock. I used another piece of dimensional tape to adhere this to the front of the card.

Adhere second background piece to card base off to the left hand side. Apply doily and then main hummingbird image panel as shown. Locate 6" x 6" card base in the paper collection that has the decorative elements shown here on the left hand side of the card, and the upper right hand corner. Fussy cut, ink all edges with a light brown ink and then adhere to card using dimensional pop dots. Using the coordinating dies to the orchid bouquet, the small curved orchid spray as well as the hummingbirds, die cut each embellishment from the preprinted images in the paper collection. Shape the sitting hummingbird and perch him on the orchid spray as shown. Locate the sentiment of your choice, adhere to card and then add hummingbird to sentiment as well as another hummer to top corner as shown. Other products: Tim Holtz distressed inks colors: Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Scattered Straw, Forest Green (leaves) and Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet (flowers), Stickles Diamond, Kraft paper and Black Cardstock, paper crimping tool

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: Cut a 6" x 3.5" tag out of Kraft paper and cover it with a piece of Botanical  Orchid designer paper. Cut a second tag out of Kraft paper and run it through a paper crimper. Die cut the inside part of the church window, just the decorative section. Cut a small tag 1.5" x 3" from the designer paper. On the 6" x 3.5" tag layer the smaller crimped tag, on the left hand side tuck the small 1.5" x 3" tag just so you can see the decorative top part. Over all this layer the decorative window section.

Cut 2 pieces of black cardstock 4" x 4.75" and 2 pieces of designer paper 4" x 1". Layer the designer over the black cardstock. Now you have 2 strips, on one of these strips cut one as a flag banner. Adhere one strips long ways over the tag and tuck the banner strip underneath.

Stamp, die cut and color, (using the distressed inks) the leafs and orchids and 2 hummingbirds. To make these flowers add additional 2 petals to each flower, this makes them a lot bigger and a different type of looking orchid. I also added some stamens to the centers and adhered the flowers over a bed of leafs. Adhere these flowers on the left hand side of the tag and among the flowers tuck 2 of the little hummingbirds.

Die cut a ticket from the designer paper using the Luggage and Tags Die. I chose one that read A Gift of Love and I nestled it between the flowers and the banner. Add Stickles to everything.

I'm getting hooked on your fantastic card ;layout's -- I purchased the "Under the Sea " collection, and so love the papers, I do not want to use it. I have all the stamps and dies associated with the collection and plan on cutting a ton out and coloring then to save the 12 x 12 pad. Could you let me know when your planning a work shop in San Diego and I can commute daily
