Let's get started and craft together!
Directions:
Step 1: Start by finding the 6 x 6" patterned panels in the above photo from the Buttons and Blooms Paper Collection.
Step 2: Cut the light patterned border off of one panel and cut the middle section out of the other.
Top Tip: The Cut Mat Create dies are designed to work with the card fronts for easy cutting of the centres!
Step 3: Stamp the patchwork pocket image twice onto white cardstock using dark blue ink (Sailboat). Diecut the image using the Patchwork and Pockets Die. Hand cut just the top section of the pocket from one. Add color to the pocket using a lighter shade of blue (Faded Jeans), and then the darker blue again around the edges using a blending tool.
Step 4: Adhere the top section of the pocket to the full image using 3D foam squares. Then add color to the needle part of the image using a gold gel pen. To finish the pocket add a large button.
Top Tip: The above photo gives you a little peek at how many dimensional layers are used. Each layer that is separated gives that much more depth and dimension to your projects. Double up 3D foam squares if you want that section to really stand out.
Step 5: The photo above shows the card front layout. The largest layer gets adhered flat onto a 6 x 6" card base created using white cardstock. The next layer is adhered using 3D foam tape. The chevron strip(cut from the Arrows and Banner Die) and the mini tag (Cut from the Ornamental Tags Die) are adhered to the card again using a single layer of foam tape. The top square is adhered using a double layer of 3D foam.
Step 6: The pocket gets added to the card, again using 3D foam. Find and cut out the "Get Well Soon" sentiment and adhere to the pocket, the left-hand side of the sentiment will need to have 3D foam to keep it level with the pocket. Add a burlap string bow to the mini tag.
Step 7: Flower Making - Stamp and die cut 1 set of the medium flowers onto white cardstock using dark pink ink (Berrylicious). Stamp and die cut 1 set of the small flowers with orange ink (Spiced Marmalade) and 1 set with yellow ink (Crushed Curry). Stamp and die cut 4 sets of the button images using the following ink: dark pink (Berrylicious), dark blue (Sailboat), teal (Broken China) and yellow (Crushed Curry).
Add color to the flowers and buttons using ink and daubers using the following ink colors: pink (Candy), blue (Faded Jeans), yellow (Crushed Curry), orange (Spiced Marmalade), teal (Seafoam). Using 3D Crystal Lacquer, add adhesive on top of all of the button images, and let dry. This will give your buttons a dimensional and shiny look.
Stamp and die cut 1 set of the swirly Leafy Accents leaves using dark green ink (Seaweed). Add color to the leaves using ink and daubers with a lighter green (Green Apple).
Step 9: Use the 3D Floral Basics and 3D Leafy Accents Shaping Molds to shape the flowers and leaves. Assemble the layered flowers using glue dots. Add a button to the middle of each flower using a small 3D foam square to add a little more dimension.
Adhere the flowers to the card using adhesive dots.
Top Tip: Always add the flowers to a project first. Then add the leaves...... tear the leaves into pieces, adding them where you would like rather than working with the shape the leaves create.
Have fun creating layered projects and adding fun element in the layers on your projects!
