Vintage Truck Layered Christmas Card
Hey friend! Tracy here and today I have a layered Christmas card tutorial to share and a few tips and tricks to share along the way. I have a confession....Christmas is my favorite time of year to decorate, celebrate and create for. It means time with my closest friends and family and that is everything to me.
I am a HC stuck on Heartfelt. I love the dies the best I have ever used. The stamps wow the best. I am in love with all of Heartfelt. I haven't tried it until I stumbled across a stamp for my first time and when I tried the stamp I couldn't believe how wonderful it was with details. Then yes the stamp and die combo I fell in love. Now I am addicted to heartfelt. Thank you Heartfelt - Myrna Myatt
I love Heartfelt Creations because every collection they make is very well thought out. With their stamps and dies and paper pads. They always come out with designs that just blow me away and I can't even tell you what is my favorite collection. There is no level of crafter that cannot make their cards and feel proud of what they make. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. - Gail McKnight Common
Absolutely in love with this company's products! Stamps-dies-paper flower making-quality decorative papers all in matching coordinating collections! They takes papercrafting to a whole new level! So here is a card a created with some old favorites and some new favorites. Here are all of the details.
Instructions
Stamp and die cut 2 of the Young at Heart truck in black Archival Ink. Cut the flowers from the box of one of the trucks. Stamp and die cut one of the small spruce trees in dark green ink (Ponderosa Pine).
From the other truck cut out just the fenders and front bumper.
Add color to the truck using the Crimson Red Chameleon Pen. TIP I created highlights on each panel of the truck by starting the blend in the middle and spiraling outward.
Add color to the wood section and tires using Chameleon Pens (BK4, BR2). Add color to all of the chrome parts of the truck using silver paint. Let dry. Adhere the fender piece to the truck using 3D foam. TIP To create the look of shine, use 3D Crystal Lacquer to the entire truck. Let dry.
Stamp and die cut 2 sets of Sparkling Poinsettia and 1 of the Celebrate the Season mini poinsettia. Add color using Chameleon Pen (RD4) and Chameleon Color Top (RD5). Shape and assemble the poinsettias. Using 3D Crystal Lacquer add beads to the middle of the poinsettias. TIP Crystal Clear adds the perfect sparkle to these poinsettias. Simply add a little bit of liquid adhesive to the tips of the petals, sprinkle on Crystal Clear and tap off the excess. Let dry.
Add Crystal Clear to the tree. Adhere it into the back of the truck.
Stamp and die cut 1 of the cardinal and holly, 3 of the small holly clusters ans 2 of the large holly clusters. Add colour to the holly leaves using the Pine Chameleon pencil first, create shading. Then come back and go over the leaves using Chameleon pen YG3. Add colour to the holly berries using Chameleon pen RD4. For extra shine add 3D Crystal Lacquer to just the holly berries, let dry.
Die cut the Window Box lattice from white and kraft cardstock. Cut them both in half. TIP Adhere the white piece on top of the kraft piece just slightly off to create the look of a shadow adding the illusion of SO much more dimension.
Cut the pieces of patterned paper for each layer of your card, 6x6. Using the Large Circle Dies, cut the coordinating circle from each layer. TIP I will often use pencil and trace the opening onto each piece of pattern before die cutting. Adhere the coordinating layers to the card panels. Using the Scallop Circle Die, cut from dark green cardstock, using the next smallest die, cut out the middle. Adhere to the front of the layered card.
Find and cut out the “Christmas Blessings” ticket and adhere to the back of the second last page of the layered card. Adhere one of the small holly clusters to the edge of the red patterned layer. Adhere the cardinal and holly cluster to the edge of the cream patterned layer.
Adhere the poinsettias and multiple holly clusters in the top right hand corner of the card. TIP I will often cut pieces of the holly clusters apart to suit the situation.
Adhere the truck and tree to the bottom left hand corner of the card using 3D foam. I added green silk ribbon around the binding edge of the card, tying a large bow at the top.
Find and die cut out the large yellow tag and the small green tag. Add burlap string bows to each and adhere to separate layers of card. Adhere one of the layered lattice to the top left hand corner and one to the bottom right hand corner of the card. Using one of the small circle dies, cut out 1 circle from yellow patterned paper. Cut it in half and add to each of the lattice pieces.
