Jump-start your Creativity + Wildwood Cottage Sneak Peeks
Hi Friend,
Happy New Year! How is your week going? Are you recovering from all the hustle and bustle the holidays bring! What was one of your favorite moments?
Have you created your first project of 2017? If not, we're bringing you the first fresh new inspiration of 2017 that will get your creativity jump-started....it's amazing what taking the time to create something beautiful can do for you! Here's what Elsie Bean just shared that happened to her:
I received my order today with the enclosed card and cried. Yesterday I began a project with Woodsy Woodland. It took me all day to do the album cover and one flipfold page. I had so much fun. I was contemplating a trip and could not think of where to go. Then I thought, visit Heartfelt Creations. I must have felt your prayers yesterday and today as I am feeling more myself. I would love to take a class to build an entire flip fold book. Perhaps at the next Akron Show? My sister asked what pictures will go into the Woodsy Woodland album? I told her nature pictures. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. ~Elsie Bean

Instructions: Measure & cut the front panel for your shadow box card approximately 6 1/4" X 6 1/4". Lay front side down, position the card front over the back of this piece and using the ruler measure from corner to corner a 4 1/2" square. Cut this out with the exacto knife. Glue to card front. Cut a 6 1/4" square from paper pad to go inside the card base. I glued it in, but only added glue around outside edge, so as not to seal flaps. Using the light green and then over stamp with the dark green ink, stamp two sets of pine trees onto white cardstock. Cut with matching dies. Stamp two sets of the pine trio using the evergreen ink. Color all trunks with C29, & 23. Add snow to trees and sprinkle with tinsel glitter. Stamp two sets of deer, one set of rabbits, & one set of squirrels onto white cardstock using gray ink. Color the deer using E44, 42, & 41, rabbits using C3, & 00, squirrel using W5, 1, & 00. Cut with matching dies. Cut deer family, you will use one buck and two does for the scene. Cut some snow drifts for inside and front of card, using the border dies and add glue to them and sprinkle with tinsel glitter. Glue in and create your inside scene. When finished, coat the chipboard word with Versamark and sprinkle with shabby embossing powder and heat set. Glue this in as pictured. Stamp four sets of rose petals with Versamark, sprinkle with pearl embossing powder and heat set. Following video listed above create two large, two medium, & three small roses. Spray with glimmer mist. Stamp Six sets of leaves from the treescape set onto white cardstock using grey ink. Color with G28, 16, & 00. Spray with glimmer mist. Glue roses, leaves, trees and critters to front of card. Close back flaps and glue in place. Glue four glass bubbles on the bottom for feet to complete your card.

Other Products: Card Stock: A4 Crafters Companion With-hint of gold 300gm; Ranger: Stardust stickles, Glossy accents, Inking foam tool, Bone folder, Scissors, Distress Inks: Forest moss, Tea dye; Other: Fussy Cutting Scissors, Double sided Tape, Double Sided Foam Tape, Scoreboard
Instructions: This Z slider card fits into an envelope that measures 22 cm x 21 cm when completed. The card size is, 17.5 cm x 21 cm. To make the card base: Taking the A4 cardstock and score at 6 cm and at 12 cm along the long edge. Fold into valley and hill folds. This will form the card front foot (6 cm x 20.8 cm) and card front background (17.7 cm x 20.8 cm). For the slider, cut 10.5 cm height x 12.1 cm width. (12.1 cm is the edge that is later glued to the top of the card.) For the card front cut 16.5 cm height x 20.9 cm width. All the matting layers will be cut at 2 mm smaller each side. Cut 6.5 cm height x 17 cm width for the slider guide. Taking the forest moss ink, ink the card background, slider and card foot of the card base. Adhere the slider to the top of the card background base. Adhere the slider guide to the back of the card front base so the slider will slide when all is put together. Taking the design paper, fussy cut the tree leaves. Measure and cut the top left of the paper to fit the card front. You will be missing the right corner due to the fussy cutting. This will be covered so you will not see this once the card is finished. Fussy cut the remaining image. Ink the edges of the fussy cuts with the forest moss ink. Adhere the design paper cuts to the card front base using glue and tape. Use the 3d foam tape/foam squares to give the height needed. Apply the tea dye ink to the background around the Deer and between the trees as needed. From the remaining fussy cut piece with leaves and roses on it, ink the edges and adhere to the top of the slider. Apply the glossy accents/crystal lacquer to the Deer and small flowers in the tree leaves on the card front. To finish, add stickles to the flowers along the foot of the card and to the roses.

Instructions: This finished card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I created the base of the card by cutting a full sheet of navy blue cardstock to 4 1/4" x 11". I scored that at 5 1/2" and folded it in half. I cut a slightly smaller piece of white cardstock. Plus I cut the blue flourish panel from the paper collection. I stamped the birds and the leaves onto watercolor paper using black Staz-on ink pad. Using a paint brush, water and watercolor markers, I colored the birds and leaves. I then used the matching dies to cut them out. I glued the white rectangle of cardstock down and then adhered 2 of the leaf branches. Using 3d foam squares, I adhered the third leaf branch and the birds into place as shown. I added the sentiment ticket using 3d foam squares, too! I tied the seam binding into a bow on the bottom of the card to complete the project!

Instructions: Create a top fold 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base using heavy white card-stock. Cut the base layer from red card stock at 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". Cut the top layer of card-stock using Arches watercolor paper at 5" x 5".
Tape the edges of the Archers watercolor paper to a flat board and allow a one inch border around the edges. Wet the entire area with water and then apply a touch of diluted Paris Blue to the upper left corner. Apply a touch of diluted Alizarin Crimson the the right lower corner and allow the two to wick into each other and dry.
Wet some reserved Arches watercolor paper and apply Green Olive to the left lower corner and Paris Blue to the right upper corner. Allow to blend together naturally and allow to dry. When dry, cut the background with a small circle die and a larger nesting die with red card-stock. Adhere together.
Stamp the birds with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card-stock. Color the images with Copic Markers: C3, C5, C7, R20, R24, R29, R59. Cut with the coordinating Woodsy Critters Die. Adhere the birds as shown on the circle die. Adhere some white Gala Glitz to the outer rim of the scalloped circle.

Watercolor the flowers with a wash of Alizarin Crimson and Die cut with the coordinating die when dry. Watercolor the Rose Stems and leaves with Paris Blue and Green Olive. Die cut when dry.

Instructions: To create this card, I have used white 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Foldout Cards. Choose the designer paper from the Classic Rose Collection and cut all the panels using Classic Border Basics Die. All the panels are lightly distressed using warm lipstick distress ink. Before adhering all the panels, adhere a white die cut on the edges of all folds. The last panel is kept open on the right side, creating an extra pocket for the designer tag. Cut two tags from designer paper and prepare a fancy tag using Ornate Borders and Pockets Die. Cut a white die cut from Botanical Window die. Adhere it to the front panel creating a look of a window. For shaping the flowers, follow Emma's video. I have used Archival Plum to stamp the images for roses and Library Green archival ink to stamp leaf and vines images. To paint the flowers I have used Tea Rose and Magenta Hue Archival Inks. Leaf Green and Olive Green inks are used to paint all leaves. All the flowers and leaves are first shaped and then dressed with crystal clear glitter using an adhesive that dries clear. Once all the elements are ready assemble the card as shown by adding various dimensions using foam tapes. The floral arrangement is adhered using hot glue. The sentiment is die cut from the designer paper itself.

Instructions: Find the Grist Mill background patterned paper, you will be using both copies of it. One is your background. From the other I fussy cut out all of the roses from the top border, 3 of the trees from the scene below, the hollow log, and the rocks in the stream. Set aside.
Stamp and die cut a set of the mini butterflies, and 2 sets of leaves using chocolate ink. I added colour to the leaves using ink and daubers. Shape them and set aside. I coloured my butterfly using my coloured pencils (Tombow Irojiten- Rainforest).
I cut a 2" x 8" strip of the dark green patterned paper and flagged the bottom. Adhere to the left hand side of the layout. Cut a 2" strip of the border strip and adhere it to the top of your banner. Find and cut out the light brown journal block and adhere to the right hand side of the layout.
Mat your photo in dark green patterned paper, white cardstock and chocolate cardstock. Adhere to the right hand side of the layout, using 3D pop dots. I added black photo corners to my photo. Find and cut out the small, dark green tag. Cut a small portion of the bottom of the tag off and use it as a tab above the matted photo. Add a bow of burlap string to the tag and tuck on the right hand side of the matted photo. Add 1 set of leaves onto your mini tag, as well as a gem.
Using 3D foam tape, add all of the roses back to the top border. Also add the one that has been covered by the banner, with the second set of leaves and some gems, onto the banner itself.
Again, using 3D foam tape, add the rest of your fussy cut pieces back to the layout. One of my trees overlaps slightly onto my photo, another overlaps onto the large journal block. The third tree, I off set from the background image slightly. I added my butterfly to the hollow log.
