Woodsy Tree Scene Ornament

Woodsy Tree Scene Ornament
Products Used
Memento Dye Ink Pad - Olive Grove, TSMP708
Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection, HCDP1-256
Woodsy Critters Cling Stamp Set, HCPC-3768

Instructions

Other Products: Brilliance Ink (Pearlescent Chocolate), Stickles, Clear Beads, Plastic Ornament, May Arts Ribbon (Natural Burlap String, 1.5" Black Stripe Ribbon), Hot Glue

Instructions: Take your 2 piece plastic ornament and trace the shape onto white cardstock. Use this as the template to create your background. I basically used only the one dark green ink. First I stamped the 2 lighter trees, by stamping off the ink once before stamping it onto the ornament template, thats what makes it look lighter. Then I stamped the darker image in the foreground of my template.

Then I wanted to add shading of the same colour of ink, around the circle. I came in further with my shading at the bottom of the template. The last thing I did, was add Stickles to the branched of the dark tree. Let dry. Cut the circle out. You may need to tweak it slightly for it to fit properly into the ornament. Find and cut out the narrow “Seasons Greetings” sentiment from the Sparkling Poinsettia collection. Cut it out and attach it to the circle using hot glue. I attached it in a slight arc for a little added dimension. I tacked the image in place, into half of the ornament using hot glue. In the other half of the ornament I added the clear beads, then simply put the ornament together.

Add burlap string and a large ribbon bow to the top of the ornament.

Watch this video https://youtu.be/wxX94X84kUo for tips on using foldout cards, shadowbox and the border basics dies.

Instructions: Start by making a 6" x 8" shadow box out of White Card stock. I based mine on this tutorial. I wanted a little different look instead of just a shadow box so I took the sides from a Bendi Fold card and inserted them into the Shadow Box. I played with different heights and lengths until I got the look I desired. For a tutorial on how to make a bendi fold card click here.

Start by layering in a scene from the Woodsy Wonderland Paper Collection before adding your bendi fold strips. I placed the strips on my desk and planned what I wanted on each layer and adhered them to the strips before attaching the strips to the frame. All images were stamped on white card stock using Expresso Truffle before die cutting with the matching dies. The tall birch tree leaves were lightly distressed with Peeled Paint distressed ink then covered with a quickie glue pen and lightly dusting with Crystal micro glitter. The deer and bunny images were distressed with Vintage Photo and dusted with Maroon micro glitter. The flowers were colored with a dove blender pen and a combination of Pickled Raspberry, Wild Honey, Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade and Peeled Paint distressed inks. The little birdies were stamped on white card stock using Danube Blue Ink and die cut with the matching die and distressed with Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo distressed inks. The finishing touches were a ribbon sentiment from the Woodsy Wonderland Paper Collection and some Diamond Stickles!
