Sparkling Poinsettia Lantern Tutorial
Today I am sharing a DIY Lantern Jar Tutorial. I’m sure you have seen these jars all over the internet and I wanted to create some for Christmas Hostess Gifts, so here we go. Here is the Lantern Jar completed.
Instructions
1) Begin by removing labels or stickers from jars. Cover jar in Dries Clear Glue.
2) Place white tissue paper on top; try not to add too many layers as this will prevent the tea light to shine through, I only used one layer of tissue paper and was sure to give the paper some dimension when I could.
3) Stand up side down to dry. I wanted to give the jar some dimension, so when this is dry, turn upright, add dries clear glue to areas and sprinkle Ultrafine Glitter and shake off excess, this will give the jar a sparkly snowy effect.
4) Stamp and cut a set of the Sparkling Poinsettia out and leaves with dark brown chalk ink on white card. Colour centers with Seedless Preserves and Tahiti Chalk Ink. Colour leaves too.
5) Mold using Deluxe Flower Shaping Tool Kit. Attach Berry centers. Detail with glue gloss pen and glitter.
6) From Celebrate the Season Paper cut a 1.5" x 12" from desired paper and wrap around jar (if your jar is larger you may need to add a piece to make it wrap around.) and secure in back. Attach May Arts trim as shown and tie gold thread just below the lip of the jar.
7) The lid on my jar was silver I just dabbed some alcohol ink on it to make it purple, you can also keep if plain if you like. I thought the raisin colour matched the inks perfectly. Add your trim to lid and place tea lights or mini lights inside.
You can also fill these jars with candy; decorate for different seasons of the year.
