Other products: White card stock, Stickles, 8" piece of Pink Floss, 3 glass beads and 2 bead caps

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: View a larger project image here. The first thing I did for this project was to stamp one of the hummingbirds from the stamp collection on heavy white card stock and color it in with alcohol markers. I used the die to cut the colored in image plus six others, on just blank white card stock. I glued 5 of them together, just to make it really sturdy. Before adhering the 6th humming bird, I sandwiched the pink floss between the last two die cut pieces. This gave the hummingbird a string to be hung from. Onto this floss string I added a pink glass bead, the bead cap, another glass bead, another bead cap and the last glass bead. I added a tad of hot glue to make sure the beads didn't roll off the floss. Put this aside.

Now, cut 3 of the Botanical Windows die, there are 3 dies in this set. Use the big die first, leaving the inside solid, then cut 3 of just the 2nd die, the arch, from the designer paper, then cut 3 from the 3rd die, the inside of the window. Layer these so you can see the designer paper through the window bars. Do this to all 3 windows. From each side of the scrolled die pieces on each window, add some strong wet glue, I used Tombo glue and I adhered each window together just from the ends. This gives you sorta of a bird cage design. From the bottom up, run the floss, with the hanging hummingbird, and use this to connect the three window tops together. Be gentle, so you don't break the delicate paper tops. Now the beaded hummingbird is hanging from the bottom part of the Window cage.

Now use the flower cling stamps mentioned above to stamp two of them on the designer paper, that way you won't have to color them in. Die cut the stamped images, form and shape the flowers. Adhere these two flowers to the front of one of the windows and add stickles to everything you want glittery. Add some flat pearl beads, a seam binding bow to the top and decorate the bow with some glass beads and you're done. One more thing, I ran some pink floss through one of the top glass beads before I hot glued it to the bow to be able to hand the cage.

Instructions: To create the Center Step Card base, cut the white cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that the edge of the card is at the 1" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" and cut from 1" to 6 1/2". Flip the cardstock and do the same to the other side. Place cardstock onto scoring board and score along the long side of the card from the edge to the cut line at 1", 2", and 6 1/2". Do the same on the other side of the card. Score between cut lines at 5 1/2". Fold at the score lines. The first, third and center score lines are mountain folds. The second score line is a valley fold. Use your bone folder to get crisp fold lines.

Stamp the Botanic Orchid stamp onto white cardstock using sky blue ink. I stamped three large and three medium orchids. Color the middle of the flowers with sky blue ink and die cut with the matching dies. See the video on how to shape these orchid flowers.

Stamp the orchid with green vines from the Regal Hummingbird stamp set onto green cardstock using green ink. I stamped this 6 times and die cut it with the matching die.

Cut strips of paper from the Botanic Orchid Paper collection for the sides and bottom of the center step card. Cut a rectangle for the center portion. Adhere all these pieces into place onto the Center step card.

Die cut the Botanic Window die (outside) twice from the sky blue cardstock and the inside once from a piece of patterned paper from the collection. Adhere the patterned piece onto one of the window die cuts. Using thin pieces of foam tape, adhere the other window die cut onto this to create a frame. Adhere onto center of the card.

Adhere stems and flowers into place as shown. Stamp sentiment using teal ink onto white cardstock and die cut with a label die. Adhere the sentiment into place. Tie the ribbon into a bow along the bottom of the card to complete the project.

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: Using this template (https://castleparkdesigns.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/luminair-template.pdf), cut the 4 sides out of White card stock. For 3 of the sides I used the middle die from the Botanic Window Die to fully cut out the opening and for the 4th panel I used the same die but only cut out 3/4 of the die so I had a door to use to insert my battery operated tea light. (The easiest way to accomplish this is to use some removable tape and fasten the die where you want it to be on your card stock and then place only the part of the die that you want cut between the plates of your die cutting machine. I wanted the entire left edge not to be die cut so I positioned the paper and die sandwich so that the left edge was not between the cutting plates.) Once you have your 4 sides cut, you will need to die cut the windows and vellum. Layer the vellum and windows and glue them in place as shown. For the back panel, to ensure that it stays closed, glue a small magnet on the inside and another small magnet on the front of the window. To cover up the magnet on the outside, glue a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener onto the top of the magnet.

The Botanic Orchid flowers were stamped on White cardstock with Tuxedo Black and cut with the matching die. They were then colored with classic chalks and distressed with Sweet Plum inks before shaping the flowers with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

The large hummingbird image from the Botanic Orchid Bouquet Stamp Set was stamped on White cardstock with Tuxedo Black, cut with the matching die and then colored with classic chalks before dusting it with crystal glitter for a little sparkle!

Finally the Regal Hummingbird Cling Stamp Set was stamped on White cardstock with Tuxedo Black, cut with the matching die and colored with classic chalks before accenting it with some stickles.

Now that all your pieces are colored, assemble as shown and finish the top off with a carrying ring die cut using a combination of the Spellbinders Delightful Circles and Standard Circles Large dies.

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: I started with both sheets of the oval frame patterned paper. One sheet I kept as is, the other I fussy cut out the entire oval frame. Set it aside for now. Stamp and cut out 2 sets of the Botanic Orchid medium flowers and 1 set of the small flower. I used inks to add colour to my flowers. I shaped my flowers using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit, and then added a coat of the crackle glaze to each flower. Set aside to dry. I cut out the borders at the top and bottom of my layout from another patterned paper from the collection. Adhere these pieces to the top and bottom. I then added my light pink scalloped ribbon, again to the top and bottom of the layout.

Cut a piece of the teal patterned paper that is 1" wide and adhere in the middle of the layout. Cut out the border strip that says “Memories Are Forever”. Adhere in the middle of the teal strip that you just added. Mat your photo (4" x 4.5") in black and white cardstock. Then another layer of the purple patterned paper. Adhere to the middle of the oval using 3D foam tape.

Shape the oval border. I rounded some of the larger scrolls, and shaped all of the flower bits. Adhere right on top of the same image on your layout using 3D foam tape. I added the crackle glaze to each of the flowers on and around the oval. Add your larger orchids using hot glue on your oval. Using the Tombow Mono Aqua adhesive, add beads to the middle of each of the larger orchids. Add pearls and buttons around the oval using hot glue.

Other products: Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine, StazOn Archival Ink (Jet Black), Prismacolor Pencils (PC903, C901, PC912, PC908, PC995, PC1003), Odorless Mineral Spirits, Tim Holtz distresser, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo), Rangers Distress Crackle Paint (clear), dauber, embossing tool, liquid pearls

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: Cut a 6" x 6" card in half from the Botanic Orchid Collection, distress the edges and add over the center of the 12" x 12" paper. Place your 4" x 6" photo over it. Make a gate chipboard using the new Botanic Window Die and add crackle paint to it. I have step by step pictures on how to make your own chipboard gate HERE. After it dries, add over the left side of the layout. Stamp the large sentiment from the Botanic Orchid Wishes Stamp Set and the hummingbird and orchid from the Botanic Orchid Bouquet Stamp Set, color using the Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with its matching die. Stamp the hummingbirds and four flourishes, color with Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with their matching dies as well. Stamp the orchids and add color with the ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink Pad (Rouge) and small dauber. Color the center of the orchids with the yellow coloring pencil. Add glitter to all these colored and die cut pieces and set aside to dry. Arrange the embellishments around your layout as shown. Finally, cut out two sentiments from the pattern papers, cut off a notch at the end and add in the bottom of the flower cluster. Add a small sentiment on the right side of the photo and finish off with some liquid pearl drops around the flower clusters.

Instructions

Other products: White Cardstock, scrap of corrugated paper, Embossing folder-woodgrain, Round frame, artificial bird's nest, Flower soft green, Artificial twigs and hay, Zig colour brush pens, foam dots, Sand Texture paste, Black gesso or black acrylic paint, Heat gun, Distress ink Espresso and Peeled Paint

Watch this video https://youtu.be/SRyuiBrFluo to learn how to create and shape the Botanic Orchid flowers.

Instructions: The Finished card measures 7" x 5". Cut a card base in white card stock 7" x 10" and score at 5" on the long side. Fold and burnish well. To make the mat layer, cut a white card stock 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" and distress the edges with a paper distresser. Distress the Edges with Distress inks. Cut a pattern paper in light green from the Botanic Orchid paper pad to a size a little smaller than mat layer. Emboss the paper with woodgrain texture embossing folder and apply distress ink Espresso on top with a very light hand. Cut the patterned paper in 1.2" strips. Adhere on black cardstock with 1/8" gap between each strip. Distress the edges and shred with a paper distresser. Adhere onto the white mat layer. Roughly tear a corrugated strip and distress it well with a blend of distress inks. Spray with water for ink to blend. Add dots of gesso with a splatter brush.

Cut two die cuts in white cardstock from the Window die and stick to each other. Apply the blue and green memento ink and sprinkle a little gold embossing powder randomly. Heat set the die cut. The round frame is actually a finished tape roll. Apply Sand paste all over and let it dry. Brush well with Distress inks and spray water to blend colours. Adhere the Window die cut to the round frame and cut the extra edges.

Create a scene using artificial nest, twigs and classic leaf die cuts. Stamp the Hummingbird three times and paint two of them with Zig brush pens, and colour the third in black. This is the base layer. Create a 3D image of bird using the other two coloured die cuts. Adhere near the nest.

To create Daffodils with Orchid die, stamp the orchid flower stamp 6 times with Versamark Embossing pad and add white Embossing powder. Colour the petals with Cantaloupe Memento Ink and the centres with Tangelo Ink. Spray water very well and crinkle the edges of the broad petals and cup them very deeply. Form a cup shape with two such center shapes. Put one cup inside another and adhere. Prick a hole in the centre. Cut out the petals with the coordinating die and shape on the Deluxe flower shaping tool. One flower requires two back petals and four center petals. Add a pollen with prills. Arrange the flowers onto the card front as shown. Add a sentiment from the Paper pad.

TRISH WATTS
Dearest Emma Lou, Hi there....this is Trish Watts from Wellington, New Zealand. I have a quick question that hopefully you or one of your Staff members could answer. I have just viewed you Debut video of the Botanical Orchid. This is absolutely beautiful Emma Lou. I am curious to know if possible that on one of your cards you previewed (the green one with the sentiment in between the sideways oval) you used the most magnificent border both on top of and on the bottom of the card. It looked as though there were some pearls dispersed intermittently which looked so lovely too, but I am wondering if you can give me an idea where I might be able to purchase that particular die or border punch. I am not sure what you used exactly and would love the name so I might be able to purchase it. I looked through all your dies and could not find it. Is it possible for you to share the name of the company and the name of the border die or punch which ever it might be. Also I was so hoping to get another order in this month, but after paying all the bills from my pension check I just did not have quite enough left, but I think I will be able to handle a good order in July. I wish I could have one of everything. So I hope to be in touch in July. So until then I will look forward to hearing from you or a Staff member regarding the border. A million thanks to my favorite Crafter! Hugs From Trish

I have a question. When you punch out a design in the front of the card stock what do you do with the inside back of the front if you put lattice or a picture in it.

Emma Lou you are designing such beautiful collections to close together. I barely got one card done with the Under the Sea collection, then I purchased this collection (I was afraid it would sell out so I did not wait to buy it) and can not tear myself away from making orchids to get back to any of your other amazing collections. It was a good thing I had already made my poppies for Memorial Day cards and decor. Congratulations on another winning design.
