Happy Mother's Day  --  Posted: Wednesday, May 05 2010

...to all you wonderful mom's. I am not a mom myself, but I am totally convinced that mom's are gifted with patience and all sorts of secret things that no one else knows about. Flying home from San Diego this past weekend with a 2 year old and a mom sitting behind me was a fresh reminder of this. It totally amazed me how patiently and expertly the mom of this 2 year old answered every question, handled every tantrum, crying sprees, and exit the plane sanely. I shake my head in amazement, and guess I won't know the secret mom's possess until I am one myself. My mom, Linda, (CEO and founder of Heartfelt Creations) is one of the world's best mom's. She raised 3 of us kids and we are all considered grown-ups by now, but she still always knows the right things to say, cooks the best meals, let's us express our opinions and thoughts freely, she is our biggest cheerleader! Thanks Mom, you're the best.
There's still time to create the most beautiful card for the mom in your life, today's projects will give you some great ideas. Love to you and yours, Emma Lou

In this card, I used the brayer technique for the background on the main image, then stamped the "Set of Mallards" over the top using Tuxedo Black (Momento) craft ink. The base ink is from a Big and Juicy pad -"Vibrant Primary". The frame was created using a Spellbinders Nestabilitie "Long Classic Rectangles" dies, stamp "Wings of Freedom" and Corner punch. For sentiment I used vellum paper and stamp from the mini message set. To finish the card, I added some gemstones, White gel pen and piercings.

I recently bought your stamps with the coordinating nestabilites dies and I would like some tips on how to cut the image out once the image is stamped. The demonstrator at the San Diego scrapbook convention demoed how she does it, but I can't seem to remember how. Please help...thanks!
