Seagull Roost, Holly Bells, and Baby Card  --  Posted: Wednesday, Sep 16 2009

Hi Everyone, This week's cards are great as always and they will get you creative juices rolling. Enjoy!

698E Seagull Roost

562F Clematis Spray

Not sure why, but I've been inspired lately to pull out my acrylic paints...it's also been a while since I altered a hymn, so this card was really satisfying to make. You can find this hymn sheet music and more here if you'd like to try altering a hymn too! I printed the hymn on tan cardstock and stamped the "Seagull Roost" over the printing. I masked it before painting to get the effect of waves crashing against the pilings and rocks. The waves are painted with a 'scruffy brush' - that is one of Donna Dewberry's one-stroke brushes, which you can find anywhere her supplies are sold...it worked really well for this effect! I was able to tie the sailor knot by studying this photo... still sort of impressed with myself (although I'm sure I could never do it again on my own)! The horizon line and edges were sponged with Sepia ink, and I stamped the "Clematis Spray" around the edges for a little added flourish. CREATED BY: DINA

359F Ribbon Rattle
360S Boy and Girl

"I stamped the image "Ribbon Rattle" using Brilliance Graphite Black ink and then colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended the colors with Odorless Mineral Spirits. Then, I cut the circle in the middle of rattle. Next, I popped image onto the base card and stamped sentiment ("Set of 2 Boy and Girl"). To finish the card, I added some Gemstones, small cream and blue buttons, brads, Clear Glitter and piercings." CREATED BY: OLENA

I am a very avid stamper and scrapbooker, and was introduced to stamping at the age of 9. Me and my mom Linda (our stamp artist) found out very quickly that we couldn't find every design we wanted, so Linda started a store... More
