The yellow paint soaked up some watercolor that was not quite dry.) I ran the card base through my Zipemate with a piece of plastic canvas (you know the kind for needlepoint crafts). I've kept that canvas on my desk to use as a guide for piercing and eyelet placement - turns out it works as an embossing plate as well! Great cheap trick. On the inside panel, I stamped the floral image again with Brilliance Rocket Red ink.
watercolor in one of the images using a #3 paintbrush. I set it aside to dry, after it's dry I used Nestabilities Labels 8 to cut out, and sponged the edges. I also cut a solid red of the next larger size. Then I colored only the holly leaves of the second image. I cut out each leaf , then cut out the candy cane. I layered the cut out (uncolored) candy cane on top of the fully colored image to mask it, and color dusted Antique Linen Distress ink over the image. This antiques the background, so when you lift off the candy cane, the white parts stay white. I glued the cut out leaves in place and added stickles. The designer paper is from Die Cuts With a View- Holiday Stack (180 sheets) the horizontal strip is layered-Ivory cardstock with sponged edges, the green grosgrain ribbon, then red velveteen rick rack.
