Poinsettia, Chickadee Surprise, and Autumn Cards  --  Posted: Wednesday, Oct 28 2009

Hi Everyone,
This week's line up of creative cards is amazing. Enjoy! and have a wonderful rest of the week, Emma Lou

Products Used on T
his Card

138D God Bless You Border
714E Chickadee Surprise

I cut the sentiment in half, and then only used part of it! The full sentiment says "God Bless You on your Birthday". I colored the "Chickadee Surprise" with Neopiko markers, shaded with Prismacolor pencils, and added texturing with the Neopiko blender pen. Her hood is covered with
Ivory Flower-Soft. I masked some hills of snow with a torn paper edge, and then went along the lines with glitter to highlight the snow. For the snowflake trails I pierced along a flourish template (really technical...I printed it on the computer, traced onto a clear envelope, then pierced holes along the lines) and connected the dots with hand-stitching. The falling snow is just small dots of acrylic paint, applied with a small stylus. You can visit my blog for a tutorial on the background panel, which is made with strips of designer paper. I ran that panel through my Zip-e-Mate with a Fiskars texture plate, and lightly sanded the raised swirls.

968E Acorn Surprise
1234AA Bold Acorn
Dewdrops

I stamped the "Acorn Surprise" using Brilliance Graphite Black ink and then colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended the colors with Odorless Mineral Spirits.

The first background was made by using yellow patterned paper and stamping "Bold Acorn", the second I used patterned paper "Autumn" from Recollections. For embellishments, I added some Dew Drops, ribbon, Acorn button and piercings."

1020C Poinsettia & Berry Cluster

I used Marvy LePlume markers in Wine, Plum, & Laurel green to ink the "Poinsettia&Berry Cluster", then stamped on to watercolor paper.
I masked the image and adde
d more of the berries to one side. I colored in the image with the inks from the same markers. I used Nestabilities labels 4 to cut image & solid layering piece. I also stamped a second Poinsttia and colored the same. I carefully cut out, shaped & glued this poinsettia on top of the first colored image. I glued tiny seed beads in the center, and added Burgundy Glitter. The designer paper is by Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses collection.

960C Blessings
Dewdrops

I used "Autumn Frame", sentiment "Blessings" stamps. The "Autumn Frame" was stamped in Graphite black ink. Next, I colored with Prismacolor pencils (blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits). Then, I made the background with Sand craft ink (Adirondack) used sponge. For sentiment I used "Blessings" stamp. For embellishments I used some Dew Drops, Stickles, a decorative punched border and some piercings to accent the card."

Beautiful cards - all of them! Dina's card is (as always) amazing! I found Heartfelt Creations through Dina's blog which I have been following for a long while now. She is so talented, and has enabled me (probably) too many times to add to my collection of rubber stamps after viewing her gorgeous creations. I have been stampiing since 2002 when a dear friend showed me how to emboss, and then took me to a class where we created a Prayer Journal. We moved from Indiana to Florida a short time later, and I see my friend only once a year now. (sigh) My stamping projects are primarily birthday and anniversary cards for family, (It's a BIG family), and close friends.

Your designers are superb. I enjoyed your booth at the Kansas City Creating Keepsakes Convention. I haven't had time to stamp since school started but your displays and the stamps I purchased from you have given me a boost of inspiration. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
