New Inspiration and How-to Video

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have had an amazing week! The highlight of my week has been going on a day outing of picking blueberries with my family and 89 year old grandpa at a patch down the street from mom and dad’s house. It was fun and makes for some very delicious baked treats.

Richard and I were in England a couple weeks and the transition into the office has been very smooth thanks to our team who works hard to get the job done regardless of circumstances! It makes me proud and happy to work with such a hard working team.

Btw quick story! Last week I took my blanket out in the back yard and surrounded myself with paint swatch colors to sift through them to figure out new colors for my kitchen:) Color is so much fun and I love so many different schemes that it's hard to decide. I think I’ve decided what to go with— the kitchen will be a color called "spring garden walk.” Can you guess what color that is? :D Through this process, I was inspired to try a new coloring technique with stamp paint for a class that I’ll be teaching locally in a couple weeks...can't wait to try it to see if it works.

Be inspired with the new projects from the design team and make sure to watch the newest video below:) Happy Crafting, Emma Lou

Want to learn how simple it is to create fancy inset titles and journaling blocks on your layouts? In this video I am using the Cut, Mat, Create dies to add fun, fresh elements to layouts and cards alike. You'll also learn how to shape tiny Delicate Asters buds. It's all so easy, once you know how!

Instructions: For a larger picture of the front click here. Another altered project this week, a cute mdf clock :) This time something simple: altering a mdf clock. Instead of using a real Quartz Clock Mechanism I used the junky yard findings. I love the vintage style of these trinkets:) Start with choosing the design paper you wish to use from the Cut Mat and Create Paper Collection and cut the paper to fit all the clock elements. Cut some die cuts you wish to use and cut several flowers and swirls in from the Cut Mat and Create Collection die. Ink them in different colors that will match your chosen design paper. I also used one of the arianna lace dies to put behind one of the flowers :) The mdf clock plate was painted with acrylic paint, color: sugar. I also decorated the back of the clock so it will not look bored :) Once you have all your pieces together and cut out you can start decorating your clock.

Cover it with your favorite designer paper and use the Cut, Mat, Create Set 2 and Cut, Mat, Create Set 2-B dies for the images on the sides of the box. The top is created by adding a die cut from the Picot Edge Circles set and the Arianna Lace Die to make the flower! For the inside I designed it so that it would hold a wallet sized photo on each frame. To do this cut a 12" x 3 1/2" piece of paper and score it at the 3 1/2" marks so it will fold. Make as many pieces as you would like and simply attach them together to make the strips longer. Finish the inside by attaching the strip of paper to both the bottom and top of the box so it folds like an accordion when the box is opened.

What lovely creations again this month! Wish I could get the Cut, Mat, Create collection but it is not in the cards for me! If you decide to bless another person with a year's worth of your collections I will be first in line hollering "YES, PLEASE!". My top creations this week are: Sandra Ten Wolde's "Time to Celebrate", Kathy Clement's "True Friend", Olga Jewell's "Arianna Gatefold Card", Kristie Taylor's "Arianna Hummingbird" and Regina Hamilton's "With Sympathy"! That doesn't mean that I don't love them all but these are the ones that "spoke" to me. Looking forward to the hop on Tuesday and seeing what gorgeous collection is going to be released the week after! TFS!
